Why volunteers
Publishing, reading, starting and running a journal on Mjournals are free of charge. That is possible because the platform is built on open science and volunteering, together with colleagues from around the world. Students, researchers and professionals all have a place here: you do not need a doctorate to help.

Our promise to you
- Your time, your pace
- Tell us how much time you can give — an hour a week is welcome. Say no to any task, pause, or stop whenever you need to.
- Small, finished tasks
- We break work into pieces you can complete: one news item, one webinar, one article to typeset.
- Free in both directions
- We never ask volunteers for payment, and volunteering is unpaid. Nobody may ask for money in our name.
- Recognised
- Volunteers who agree are introduced on Our people, receive a shareable card with a verification code, and are thanked by name each year.
Code of conduct
- Keep confidential what you see: manuscripts, reviews and personal data are never shared outside the task.
- Never ask anyone for payment, and never make promises on behalf of a journal or the platform.
- Be respectful and inclusive with colleagues, authors and readers from every country and background.
- Declare any conflict of interest, and step back from a task when you cannot be impartial.
- When you stop volunteering, your access is closed and you return any files you were working on.
