Guide for editors

Handling a manuscript from editorial check to publication.

Editors work in the editorial dashboard. A manuscript moves through these stages:

  1. Editorial check: scope, formatting, anonymisation and the similarity report. Corrections can be requested before review.
  2. Peer review: invite independent reviewers, follow their progress and send reminders.
  3. Decision: accept, minor or major revision, or reject, with a letter to the authors.
  4. Production: send the accepted manuscript to typesetting and check the proof.

Every step is recorded and can be exported as the journal's index file.
